The 5 months of crimes you speak of make it sound like the murderers were APPO members. In fact, at any point, URO could have easily de-escalated the situation and brought down the barricades by accepting a temporary loss of power as governor. URO brought the barricades up with his heavy handed tactics, armed mercenaries to attack them, then brought in the PFP. Guess what, the PFP can't stay, they don't have the numbers to occupy Oaxaca because of the popular indignation of the people.

Its not just the APPO at the barricades, its mothers with their children, nurses, doctors, families, young people and grandparents. Oaxaca is ungovernable as long as its citizens are not taken seriously.

Disculpame por escribir en ingles, pero asi es mas facil para mi y me parece que tu hablas ingles bastante bien. Let me tell you that you and narconews are the only reliable source of english news i've found regarding this conflict. I'm no journalist, but i've set up a tiny blog where i translate and rely info from various sources (la jornada and APPO radio mainly) for all english readers to learn what's woing on and spread the word of this conflict.

el_oaxaco.livejournal.com

I'm not as brave as those that are outside right now, resisting and fighting for a better life, but at least i can tell the world what is going on.
